Theatre Company Bootcamp
What you will learn
Learn how an ensemble of actors work together to create a piece of performance. This three day intensive will give an insight into our Acting: The Company course which runs at Morley twice a year. You will learn ensemble theatre techniques and rehearse a short section of performance to be performed to a small invited audience on the final afternoon.
By the end of the course you will be able to
- Rehearse confidently and creatively; realising and releasing the text
- Understand and apply the key skills that make a good actor/director relationship
- Work collaboratively and to a timeline, producing an engaging, exciting and credible short performance
Class format and activities
We will mirror a range of the methods used in rehearsals for The Morley Theatre Company productions. The work will be exciting, challenging and rewarding. Whilst fun and invigorating it will also discipline your approach to the text and performance and gives insights into the creative processes of an actor.
Tutor will employ constant feedback and Q&A approaches, along with encouraging learner input and reflection.
Course will culminate in a short excerpt of a scene(s) to an invited audience.
In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
