What you will learn
Suitable for more experienced tap-dancers wanting to further refine and improve skills and explore the new rhythms and techniques of rhythm tap: Rhythm Tap 3, an upbeat non-syllabus tap class, led by innovative tap company Sole Rebel Tap.
By the end of the course you will be able to
- Demonstrate new complex tap steps and combinations
- Demonstrate the ability the change the rhythm, time signature or style of existing tap movements
- Demonstrate a confidence to explore improvisation and musicality
- Demonstrate a learned short routine independently
Class format and activities
The class begins in a circle to warm-up. A number of new tap steps and rhythms are explored, through dynamic exercises and a vast range of music. There will be opportunity to discover improvisation techniques. At the end of class a short fun routine is developed and rehearsed, built up across the course.
In addition to your dance practice, study can include the use of digital resources such as film & photography, useful websites and connection with online communities of interest via social media to enhance your learning.
Constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor will help you succeed during the class.
A good level of fitness. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, have any serious health concerns or a history of injury, and inform your tutor of any physical activity you have been advised to avoid.
What you need to know before you enrol
A good level of fitness is required to be able to do the practical work. However adjustments will be made to the movements to meet particular physical or learning needs.
Photography and film recording of class activities may be used in order to aid learning. These images may also be used for publicity or marketing materials produced by Morley College, both online and in print. You will have the opportunity to either confirm or decline consent to being filmed or photographed.
