Laura started her recording career in 2001 with the release of Nobody Else But Me, which The Observer newspaper made the CD of the Week. This was followed in 2004 by Just One of Those Things, which received airplay on Michael Parkinson’s Radio Two show and caused JAZZ WISE to comment “Zakian swings effortlessly, combines a lightness of touch with a deep reservoir of power and control.”

In 2009 Laura released About Love. JAZZ JOURNAL said “Ms Zakian is on great form here putting her personal stamp on a challenging mixture of material”

Laura’s 2014 album SONGS FOR MODERN LOVERS garnered 4 stars from Jazz Review. "It’s a personal mixtape that not only showcases the singer’s beguiling timbre, but also her command of mood and pacing.”  And Sarah Ward from Jazz FM commented it “has brought a fresh, elegant approach to a wide range of songs, without ever losing the heart”

The Band features some of the best of British: Steve Lodder on piano, Simon Thorpe on Bass and Nic France on Drums.

“if anyone deserves to be famous on merit and achievement to date, she (Laura Zakian) does” (Jazz Journal)
