Ana Ivanova has started her musical path on the violin in her native country Bulgaria. She plays the viola from the age of 14 and since then has graduated with excellence from National School of Arts (Ruse), State Academy of Music (Sofia) with BMus(Hons) Distinction and has obtained Master Degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London). Ana holds a PTLLS Award from City & Guilds (London) in Music Leadership, as well.
She has performed at masterclasses with Yuri Bashmet, Lawrence Power, Barbara Westphal, Yfrah Neaman, Paul Silverthorne, Kungsbacka Trio, Sven Arne Tepl and Ognyan Stanchev, and is a winner of three national competitions in Bulgaria and has played as a soloist with Ruse Philharmonia (Bulgaria) and Orquestra do Norte (Portugal). Ana is also member of Duo Romantica (Viola & Guitar), which has given concerts in Bulgaria, Maldives, Lebanon and the UK between 2002 and 2010.
Ana has been a full-time member of Orquestra do Norte (Portugal) from 2008 till 2013. Besides the orchestral work, she has been performing as a chamber musician, educator and soloist, as well. During that period Ana has performed at several international festivals like Snape Proms- UK, Stamford International Music Festival- UK, Aldeburgh Festival- UK, Guimaraes 2012- Portugal, AIMS- Spain, Aurora Festival- Sweden, ISO Festival- Malta, Sommerliche Musikakademie Wohldorf-Ohlstedt Hamburg-Germany etc..
Since 2014, Ana has returned to London and has focused mostly on her teaching career. Besides teaching at Morley College, Ana Ivanova is currently working for Kingston Music Service, Langdon Academy, "DEA Academy for Music and Arts" and Vision/RMS as a violin/viola tutor and a string ensemble leader.
In March 2015 she has been invited to perform at the Opening of the 55th Anniversary Edition of the International Festival "March Musical Days" in Bulgaria and the cocert has won a "Musician of the Year" Award as "Musical Project of the Year -2015". Since November 2015 Ana Ivanova is a member of Docklands Sinfonia (London) as a 1st violins section player and has given several concerts as a Principal viola with different orchestras in the UK. Ana is also on the CBSO (UK ) viola extra-list since 2010.
