Fenella Juanita Barker
Fenella performs, teaches and choreographs Flamenco, Spanish Classical and regional dance. She also performs East European and Gypsy dance. She has worked with a number of companies, including Un Poco de Flamenco and Bayan Cossacks. Fenella has toured the UK, Europe, USA and Canada working in opera, cabaret, corporate events, cruises, schools, TV, film and video.
Her previous work as a dancer encompasses contemporary, jazz, modern ballet and character styles. She worked for 8 years with the National Character Dance Company/Romanska Folk Ballet (as a Spanish dance soloist and character dancer) and for 6 years with Springs Dance Company.
Fenella has taught at many dance schools and institutions including at the English National Ballet School as a guest Spanish dance teacher, and the London Metropolitan University on the Performing Arts degree course.
In 2009 Fenella was awarded a teacher's bursary by the Spanish Dance Society to enable her to attend the international teachers' course.
Fenella teaches at various studios across London including several Flamenco courses at Morley.
