Katie is a knitter, crocheter, designer and self confessed colour magpie. Currently running her own luxury knitwear label that takes a ‘waste not, want not’ design approach. Implementing a modern twist on traditional crafts, hand producing pieces in London that rework consumer waste, designer surplus and British made product into high fashion.
London based designer Katie studied her MA in Fashion Knitwear at Central Saint Martins. Having previously worked around the world with John Galliano, Diane Von Furstenberg, Mark Fast and Romance was Born before going on to complete her first solo collection for S/S14.
Gathering a wide range of influences to create a wearable crafted collection that embraces colour, texture, and pattern. Katie has a passion for her craft and teaching the skills of knitting and crocheting, working alongside her practice as a lecturer running master classes at events and universities.
Her work has been supported by The British Fashion Council’s, Estethica Emerging Talents Award, and has been featured in Vogue, Dazed and Confused and knitting publications such as Knitting magazine, Mollie Makes and Inside Crochet. Katie also won the UKHKA Knitted textile award in 2011 and brand was nominated for the Fashion Award at The Observer Ethical Awards in 2014.
