Julie is a contemporary dance artist from Denmark. Since graduating from University of Surrey with a First Class BA in Dance and Culture she has worked as performer, choreographer and teacher in UK and across Europe. Her main movement training includes aerial circus arts, contemporary, gymnastics, jazz and street dance. Since 2013 she has been running the choreographic research and performance project, Inter Pares Project, with dance artist, Agnese Lanza, through which she is continually doing residencies, teaching and performing.
Julie has taught dance, aerobics and rhythmic gymnastics, for toddlers to adults, in numerous contexts including schools, fitness centres, nurseries, V&A Museum of Childhood, for Amina Khayyam Dance Company and as guest teacher at Coventry and Surrey Universities.
As performer Julie has worked with choreographers and companies including Carlos Cortes, Protein Dance, Rosanna Irvine, Rosemary Lee, seven sisters group, Tempered Body Dance Theatre and Théâtre Libre. Currently, she is working with filmmaker, Lucie Sheppard.
Continual professional development is very important for Julie. She is currently studying on the Nordic Master of Arts in Dance Studies and training on the two year aerial arts programme, InFlight; all of which feeds in to her practice and teaching.
