Mercedes Mompó-Pico was born in Spain, where she trained to become a professional dancer. After finishing vocational training she went on to dance with several small companies in Sweden, Italy and UK. She joined Vortice Dance Company in 2010 in Portugal, touring Portugal and Europe with several productions.
Mercedes relocated to London in 2012 to develop her teaching career and studied at Trinity Laban to prepare for the Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning. She graduated in 2015 and on the same year was awarded the Victoria Griffiths Bursary for dance teachers. At present she teaches ballet full time and is working towards becoming an IDTA (International Dance Teacher Association) associate teacher.
Mercedes is delighted to be part of the Morley College faculty.
