Elena Gileva is a Russian-born, London-based artist with a specialist interest in the decorative, historical and ornamental, through the medium of ceramic sculpture. Elena has training in both ceramics and fine arts, holding an MA in Ceramics and Glass from the Royal College of Art and a BFA in Fine Arts from the Parsons Paris School of Art and Design.
She has participated in several exhibitions worldwide, including Architects at Play at CIVA Brussels (2019); Square Art Projects at the London Art Fair (2019); Nakanojo Biennial 2019 in Gunma, Japan (2019); and Gyeonggi, International Ceramic Biennale, in Icheon, South Korea (2017). In 2017 she presented a solo exhibition, Cultural Lanscape Part 2, in the Gallerie de L’Ancienne Poste in Toucy, France, and she has also taken part in two dual exhibitions - FOUNT Airspacegallery/British Ceramic Biennial in Stoke-on-Trent in 2017, and FRACAS in Brussels, Belgium in 2019.
She joined Morley as a Ceramics tutor in Winter 2018 and says that her favourite thing about Morley College is its "truly diverse and welcoming community".
