Anna Maria Genuise
Anna Maria Genuise has been working in costume production for over 20 years, for film, theatre, Opera, ballet and Television. She trained originally in fashion dressmaking, but discovered the magical world of costume, training as theatrical costumier in Venice with Nicolao Atelier. After moving to London, she was employed by the Royal Opera House between 2000 and 2013, where her passion for tutu making started and was nurtured. After becoming freelance she has been expanding her making and cutting skills for films and theatre while also creating her own company ‘Tutu Maker Studio’, specialising in bespoke tutu making and tutu rentals. Her tutus have been worn by professional dancers and by students attending international competitions such as Prix de Lausanne, YAGP, Varna international competition, as well as on stage with the Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal ballet and lots more. In 2016 she appeared in the BBC program” Dancing the Nutcracker,” making and fitting the Sugar Plum tutu for Francesca Hayward’s debut in the role.
