Marius Carboni was Press Officer at Decca Classics and then EMI’s Head of Press and Promotion before leaving to set up his own PR consultancy in 1995. Over the years he has acted for a range of artists and organisations including Warner Classics, Decca International, the conductor Bernard Haitink, The BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Radio 3 and the BBC Proms. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Society of Arts and Higher Education Academy. He studied music at Huddersfield where he helped back stage in the early days of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, and then took a Business Management diploma in London.
In 2000 he was awarded an MA in Performance and Visual Arts from King’s London and in 2010 completed his PhD at Hertfordshire University where he oversees music industry courses for under and post graduate students as well as teaching similar courses at City University and Morley College. He has contributed to chapters in various music industry books.
