Debbie started her teaching career 20 years ago in South Africa, teaching basic skills English and Maths to factory workers on site. She moved to the UK in 1999 and started teaching ESOL as an hourly paid tutor at Westminster Adult Education Service. Since then she has worked in Adult education, Further education and Offender learning. She is an experienced practioner who has taught ESOL, EFL and English in a variety of settings from pre-entry to Level 2.
She has a first degree in English Literature, and several Postgraduate Qualifications related to teaching and teacher training. She is passionate about the transformative power of education and in empowering adults to achieve and improve their skills for higher education and work. She believes that everyone deserves a second chance.
