Announcing 2025’s Fellowships and Award winners
The Governing Body of Morley College London is today announcing the recipients of three Fellowships and two special Awards, to be presented at a special ceremony five weeks from today.
The recipients will receive their accolades at the annual Morley Awards ceremony, which also recognises the achievements of staff, and of students based in the college’s three main teaching sites in North Kensington, Chelsea and Waterloo, and at its Stockwell community hub.
Recipients were selected by the Governing Body based on nominations by governors, staff, students, Fellows and former Award recipients.
Awards
The Inspire Ambition Award is made to an individual or individuals who in life and work have inspired others to learn. Governors have chosen two make two such awards in 2025.

The first goes to broadcaster Angela Rippon CBE for her powerful advocacy of lifelong learning through dance, inspiring millions by challenging age-related stereotypes and championing inclusive creative education on both national television and through initiatives like Silver Swans and Let’s Dance.

The second award goes to actor Michelle Greenidge, in recognition of her remarkable journey from Morley drama student to acclaimed stage and screen actor, embodying the transformative power of adult education and inspiring others to pursue their dreams, no matter when they start.
Fellowships
Fellowships are awarded to individuals who have been members of the college community as students, members of staff or governors, and recognise an outstanding contribution to the life of the college.

Professor Andrew Gower is made a Morley Fellow in recognition of his transformative decade as Principal and Chief Executive (2015-2025), during which he led a landmark college merger, oversaw £20 million in capital investment, and championed lifelong learning across London.

Patsy Hickman is recognised for her enduring contribution to the College’s cultural life, culminating in the creation of Renewal, a landmark public sculpture installed at the Waterloo Centre for Adult Education that powerfully embodies Morley’s values of creativity, community, and lifelong learning.

Victor Olowe has been awarded a Morley Fellowship in recognition of over a decade of outstanding governance leadership (latterly as Vice Chair of the Governing Body), during which he championed the College’s independence, steered it through a transformative merger, and helped widen access to education for disadvantaged communities across London.
