Levels of Learning

-
These courses are roughly equivalent to four GCSEs graded 2/3 (E/D) and are designed to help you develop skills and knowledge that you can build on, in later courses.
Level 1 generally require no previous experience, but if you want to take a Level 1 ESOL course you may have to complete Entry Level 3 first.
At our North Kensington Centre and The Chelsea Centre for the Creative Industries, Level 1 courses are a great place to start if you are not certain what to do next. At level 1 you will receive lots of support and guidance to move into an area that is more specialised at level 2.
-
A Level 2 course is roughly equivalent to four GCSEs graded 4/5 (C). Like level 1 these are also suitable for students with limited experience in a subject, but also provide an opportunity to begin to develop an interest or specialism in a particular area of focus.
These courses will provide you with a grounding for further study or for starting work.
At our North Kensington Centre and The Chelsea Centre for the Creative Industries we offer level 2 courses in all areas of focus at the centres, and in every case an opportunity to progress to advanced study at level 3.
-
Level 3 courses are advanced learning opportunities post GCSE level. On these programmes you will develop the skills and knowledge you need to build a career or go on to higher study in a particular area of focus.
Level 3 study can lead on to apprenticeships or foundation learning at level 4, take you straight into employment, or give you the required entry qualifications for University and Higher Education Institutions.
Despite being classed as “Advanced Learning”, these courses don’t necessarily require previous experience in the area, but there will be clear entry requirements such as specific grades at GCSE or a level 2 qualification in a related area of study.
