STUDIOs

We offer a number of high-quality specialist facilities, including a professional standard recording studio, a recently refurbished jewellery studio, a new digital design studio and several dance studios.

Recording studio

Our state-of-the-art recording studio has recently been revamped to a professional standard, and comes equipped with a Pro Tools C24 system, a 5.1 Adams surround system, and a range of the latest software. The control room is connected to a live studio, a drum booth and Morley’s two main performance spaces, enabling students to capture professional recordings from live performances, concerts and productions at the College. These facilities are available to students on our music technology courses, while students on many of our music performance courses are also offered the opportunity to use the recording studios to create their own CD.

Jewellery studio

Our new jewellery studio is a bright and airy space fully furnished with a wide range of specialist equipment to meet the needs of our jewellery students, from basic to more specialised techniques. We have Flamefast hearths for soldering and silversmithing; facilities for the use of resins and etching and a well equipped enamelling room with three kilns and extraction. Other equipment includes guillotines, rollermills, drills, a lathe, a lapidary unit, a double polishing motor, several flexible drive pendant motors, small and large stakes for silversmithing, five soldering areas and small torch use at the hard wood benches.

Digital design studio

Our recently upgraded digital design studio is equipped with new top-of-the-range large-screen Macs, and a large range of industry standard design packages, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Premier Pro, Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver.      

Dance studios

Our dance studios are 'sprung floor' and are equipped with floor to ceiling mirrors so that our students can perfect their routines.
