Website success for Morley Digital Design students
Becky Halverson, Sherrill Evarschi, Mike Loomey and Robert Hutchinson all met when randomly assigned to a project team as part of last term's Web Design & Development course, run by Head of Digital Design Chakib Labidi.
Since finishing the course, they teamed up to create a website for a Hertfordshire Bed & Breakfast - in just 3 weeks! - and already have other projects in the pipeline.
The team used the new techniques and structures they had learned during their time at Morley, which included branding, marketing, site content, wireframes and sitemaps. By the end of the course, the team had produced a dummy website called Cupid on the Beat.
Mike said "I took the Web Design & Development course at Morley to improve my own websites. I never expected I would end up successfully collaborating with a couple of equally enthusiastic classmates on other people's sites". Becky went on to explain that although she had no previous web design knowledge, she brought over 20 years' experience in design and some journalistic experience to the table.
Sherrill, who also teaches ICT (part-time) at our community-based site BEC said, "I am really keen to brush-up on my web design skills and Chakib has inspired me to do this. Who knows, perhaps in the future, I may even go on to teach web-related software".
