Morley College set for Portas Pilot
Waterloo has been selected as one of the 27 Portas Pilot areas, with enterprising Morley students given a great opportunity to sell products that they have made at the College.
Spearheaded by retail expert Mary Portas, the Portas Pilots have been created to help rejuevenate town centres and shopping areas across England. A grant of £97,737 has been earmarked for the Waterloo area to deliver a range of projects designed to revitalise and re-connect the historic high street of Lower Marsh and The Cut.
Part of the grant will help fund a partnership with the College to support students - in particular designers and makers - to ‘test trade’ their products on a stall at Lower Marsh Market.
