Bawden Cases: Raku

Raku_cups_page_detail

Raku is a pottery technique that has its origins in 16th century Japan. The technique saw a revival in the West in the 1960s, led by ceramic artist Paul Soldner.

The Raku process involves rapid firing and subsequent cooling in sawdust, which produces beautiful glaze effects.

This exhibition shows work produced by Morley tutors as well as students.
