Welcome to the ESOL Department
English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) courses are for refugees, asylum seekers or people who have lived in the UK or the EU for at least three years.
On the ESOL programme you will improve your English for:
- everyday life
- work
- study in Further and Higher Education
We appreciate that this may be your first step back into education and you may be worried about which course is right for you. So, if you have any problems understanding the courses, or you are undecided about which course you would like to do, then please pick up the phone and call us, or come along to our advice sessions where we can discuss the courses we offer and the opportunities they can lead to.
You will need to come to an advice session (during term time). An English language adviser will interview and assess you to help you decide which programme is best for you. Please note the assessment will take about 45 mins. The advice sessions operate on a first come-first served basis so if there is a queue you will have to wait.
