Art & Design
At Morley we offer a broad range of art and design courses for the beginner, improver or professional. Whether you want to try your hand at ceramics, learn to make your own jewellery, refine your watercolour skills or discover a talent for tapestry, we can offer practical experience within a thriving creative environment.
Art History | Art for Adults with Learning Disabilities | Bookbinding | Ceramics | Events & Trips | Foundation Course | Glass Engraving | Jewellery | Painting & Drawing | Printmaking | Sculpture | Textiles, Craft Design and Related Subjects
Our tutors are highly-skilled artists, designers and crafts people practising in their own fields, and will help you achieve your potential through the exploration of materials and ideas.
For those looking for something less hands-on, we offer a range of Art History courses taught by experts in their fields, who can guide you through subjects as wide-ranging as Byzantine art & architecture, victorian stained glass art and the work of contemporary artists. Our organised gallery visits to venues across London provide an opportunity to enjoy and discuss historical and contemporary art.
We also offer several courses for those wishing to undertake more formal training in art and design, including one-year textiles and photography courses accredited by City & Guilds and an Art Foundation course aimed at preparing students for further studies at higher-education level.
Our art and design studios provide the specialist equipment you need to realise your ideas and experiment with new techniques, while Morley’s professional exhibition space, Morley Gallery, offers an excellent venue to show your work to the public for the first time. Display cases in the main building are also used to display student work.
