ConcessioNs & Financial Assistance
Concessionary (reduced) fees
You may be able to claim a concessionary fee if you are:
- In receipt of Job Seeker's Allowance
- In receipt of Employment and Support Allowance (Work-Related Activity Group)
- Receiving another income-based benefit
- Dependent on a person in receipt of income-based benefit (please provide evidence of the benefit and your relationship to the recipient)
- In receipt of working tax credit (Please provide the original full award certificate)
- Receiving housing or council tax benefit. (Please note that council tax exemptions and discounts are not classified as council tax benefits)
- Asylum seekers in receipt of the equivalent of a means-tested benefit (please provide evidence from the Home Office confirming your status)
- Receiving a UK state pension as your main source of income.
To be eligible for a concessionary fee you must enrol in person. Please bring documentary evidence of your entitlment with you when you enrol. If you are in receipt of JSA or ESA(WRAG) please also bring your National Insurance Number. If your award letter is more than three months old, please also provide a current bank or other statement showing that you are still receiving the benefit.

Staged payment agreements
For some courses with higher fees, it may possible for fees to be paid in installments. A Staged Payment Agreement form is available for this purpose from Enrolment Services.
Refunds
Refunds for courses are not generally offered unless they are requested at least three weeks before the start of the course or in exceptional circumstances. For further information about refunds see our Refunds Policy.
