ESOL Entry 1 literacy

For students consolidating at Entry 1 in spoken English (not total beginners) but whose literacy is emerging at Entry 1. Students may take 2 years to achieve Entry 1 Reading and Writing, though may do Speaking and Listening at Entry 1 in one year. FREE if you are on Job Seekers or Employment Support Allowance.

• ESOL Entry 1

  A two term course for real beginners with very limited English who will make fast progress and take the ESOL Entry 1 exam in February 2012. FREE if you are on Job Seekers or Employment Support Allowance.

• Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)

  This advanced course is for students who have passed the Cambridge First Certificate Exam (FCE) or ESOL Level 2 and want to prepare to take the Cambridge Advanced Exam (CAE). Registration for the exam is external.

• ESOL Entry 1a

  For students consolidating at Entry 1 in their spoken skills (not total beginners), who have basic literacy skills in English and want to improve their English speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will take the Entry 1 exam by July. FREE if you are on Job Seekers or Employment Support Allowance.

• ESOL Entry 1b

  For students emerging at Entry 1 who speak very little English but have basic literacy skills in their first language and/or in Roman script and want to improve their English speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will take the Entry 1 exam by July. FREE if you are on Job Seekers or Employment Support Allowance.
