Revisit your Grammar and Spelling

Do you want to reinforce your grammar and spelling? Learn strategies to help you remember how to spell words and discuss patterns and rules of standard written English. For students at Entry 2/Entry 3.

What will I learn on the course?

• Learn how to make subjects and verbs agree and demonstrate this in your writing.
• Identify more parts of speech – prepositions, pronouns and conjunctions.
• Learn how to use prefix and suffix to improve your spelling and vocabulary.
• Identify homonyms and synonyms and use them to improve your writing.

What will I be doing in class?

Activities that are visual, tactile and auditory
Complete word gaps in written materials
Working independently, in pairs, in groups or with the whole class.
Completing homework and assignment

What kind of feedback will I get?

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. If you are not pursuing a qualification, you and your tutor will be asked to assess the progress you have made at the end of the course.

Are there any entry requirements?

These courses are for fluent speakers of English who want to become more confident with reading and writing for work, study and everyday life.

A4 ring binder file, A4 lined pad, 2 coloured pens, pencils, eraser.
