  • Contemporary Dance: Improvers

    Consolidating first two terms’ work exploring key aspects of technique, rhythmic awareness and dynamic flow, suitable for learners with at least six months experience of contemporary dance. We will develop a dance piece to perform at the Summer 2013 Dance Show.

    A workshop exploring contact improvisation, solo performance and voice, working towards creating dance in the present moment. Drew has worked with some of the leading practitioners in improvisation and this influences his performance and teaching style.

  • Cuban Rhythms and Dance

    Cuba has an outstanding dance culture, best known for salsa, but there are many others like the cha cha cha, mambo, bolero, rueda de casino and son. This course will introduce you to the world of Cuban dancing, the passion and rhythms.

    For adults with moderate learning difficulties and some experience of dance.

  • Dance & Performance Workshop

    An integrated dance project for adults with moderate learning difficulties and some experience of dance. In conjunction with Corali Dance Company, you will create dance work for performance.

    A fun and accessible course which develops flexibility, strength, co-ordination and stamina. Learn stretching exercise and dance routines to a broad range of music from RnB to jazz, for sheer dance enjoyment and fitness.

    A dynamic, fun workout based on dance exercises and sequences. Suitable for the mature, active participant.

  • English Country Dancing: Intermediate & Advanced

    Learn some more advanced English country dances from Playford to those of the present day. Accompanied by live music played by Laurel Swift. Suitable for more experienced students. Please note, online enrolment is only available to those who enrolled in the previous term. Eligible students will have received an email invitation to enrol online.

  • English Country Dancing: Introduction and Beginners

    Learn the basic steps, formations and popular English country dances. Accompanied by live music played by Laurel Swift. It is recommended that those brand new to country dancing join in the autumn term

  • Flamenco: Improvers

    Develop your understanding and interpretation of the moods and styles of fiery Flamenco dance; this class develops your skills in all aspects of Flamenco dance, including castanets. There are opportunities to perform and it is accompanied by a guitarist.
