Description: City & Guilds, Level 2 Certificate 7823 Artist in Residence

'Gilded Shoes' by Katherine Moloney from last year's AIR 3 exhibition
The Artist in Residence Qualification was designed by Deborah Bird of ArtyBird and accredited for International use by City & Guilds in 2006. The course is designed to support and prepare artists working in residence in a variety of situations, including workshops and commissions. The qualification is also used to provide professional development for teachers in primary and secondary education.
The qualification is delivered and assessed entirely online in partnership with Morley College, in Lambeth, London. Students are asked to develop 5 artist in residence project proposal ideas, showcasing examples of their own artistic practice. In addition, they are also required to carryout two ‘live' residencies. A final public exhibition is held to showcase the artists' own work and projects developed during the course.
Students are provided with advice, support, feedback and mentoring through the whole process of planning, performing and documenting ‘artist in residence' activity.
Course length: 30 weeks over a nine month period (120 learning hours)
Start Date: 8 March
Fee: £625
