Acrylic Portrait Painting from Life
Create two acrylic portraits on canvas and board - using a range of formal and experimental techniques that will extend your knowledge of acrylic painting and colour mixing through intense observation of the head and features. Basic materials included.

Advanced Painting
For students who have advanced art experience and who want to further their practice in painting. It is structured around discussions, gallery visits, practical workshops and self-directed projects and/or commissions undertaken outside the course. Students will be take part in group discussions and self assessment, work independently and prepare for our annual exhibition in the college gallery. Entry is by interview with portfolio of recent work.

Contemporary Collage
The focus of this practical course is on experimenting imaginatively with collage to both help generate ideas and to also produce some ‘complete’ works of art. A variety of collage techniques will be explored (such as decoupage and photomontage) as well as projects using collage with other mediums such as paint and drawing. This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in making art and in exploring new ways of generating ideas.

Creating and Drawing Characters for Children's Fiction
