Textiles Foundation

Suitable for students wishing to progress onto a degree in textiles or a related subject, or just to study textiles in depth for a year. The course includes drawing; design skills; constructed, dyed, printed and embellished processes; and contextual studies. Entry is by interview with portfolio. • Textiles Advanced Workshop

  Work in a stimulating and sympathetic environment on your own projects with a view to exhibiting in the Morley College Gallery in July, working to commission, or preparing a professional portfolio. Special attention will be given to current exhibitions, study days and current textiles practice. This course is suitable for those with advanced textiles experience, such as a degree, or who have completed the Textiles Foundation course, who wish to further their practice in this and related areas. Entry is by interview with a portfolio of recent work.

• Textile Print Workshop

  An opportunity to develop a range of print techniques and personal work in a supportive environment. Studio is equipped with print tables, two heat presses and a bullet steamer.

• Textiles Intermediate Workshop

  A course designed for those with limited experience in a textile discipline who wish to broaden and extend their knowledge, with focus sessions on many constructed and printed technques.

• The Drawing Course

  An introduction to drawing and mark-making and exploring ways of seeing. Through exercises and experiments, you will explore a range of different topics each term, including line, tone, shape, form and composition. You will be encouraged to try a variety of materials and creative techniques and approaches in response to the life model, objects, outdoor spaces and the imagination. Beginners and all levels welcome.
