Textiles Foundation
Suitable for students wishing to progress onto a degree in textiles or a related subject, or just to study textiles in depth for a year. The course includes drawing; design skills; constructed, dyed, printed and embellished processes; and contextual studies. Interviews for 2012/2013 entry begin in February 2012. Abstract Painting
A practical introduction to exploring abstract painting through approaches, techniques and materials. You will have the opportunity to respond creatively to a range of source material including music, text, objects and images.

Acrylic Portrait Painting from Life
Create two acrylic portraits on canvas and board in a day - using a range of formal and experimental techniques/applications that will extend your knowledge of acrylic painting and colour mixing through intense observation of the head and features - referencing work from 20th century portrait painters.

Advanced Sculpture Workshop
A sculpture workshop for experienced sculpture students/sculptors to develop individual projects and/or work from other sculpture classes. There will be technician support for use of all workshop equipment. All workshop materials or kiln firing will be charged for in addition to the workshop fee.

An exciting introduction into the art of jewellery making using precious and base metals. You will cover skills such as saw piercing, filing, soldering and polishing with the aim of creating at least three beautifully finished pieces of jewellery.

An Introduction to Stone Setting
Unravel the mysteries of setting cabochon and faceted stones. This evening course will give you an invaluable insight into rub over and flush settings. You will be able to incorporate these skills into simple rings. Suitable for students with a basic level of jewellery making skills.
